Analisis Perbandingan Kontribusi Metode Sport Massage dan Foam Rolling terhadap Pemulihan pada Kelelahan Otot

Abstract

Aktivitas fisik intensitas tinggi dapat menyebabkan kelelahan otot, penurunan performa, dan risiko cedera. Penelitian literature review ini bertujuan membandingkan efektivitas sports massage dan foam rolling dalam pemulihan kelelahan otot. Sebanyak 15 artikel ilmiah dari berbagai database (Google Scholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, DOAJ, Garuda, dan SINTA) dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan content analysis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan 8 artikel melaporkan efektivitas foam rolling dalam mengurangi delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), meningkatkan fleksibilitas, dan mempertahankan range of motion (ROM). Sementara itu, 5 artikel menunjukkan sports massage efektif mempercepat pemulihan akut melalui peningkatan sirkulasi darah dan relaksasi neuromuskular. Dua artikel lainnya menyatakan kedua metode dapat saling melengkapi. Kesimpulannya, sports massage lebih unggul untuk pemulihan segera setelah aktivitas fisik, sedangkan foam rolling lebih konsisten dalam mengurangi DOMS dan meningkatkan fungsi gerak. Kedua metode efektif diintegrasikan sesuai kebutuhan atlet.
