Author Guidelines

Authors interested in submitting manuscripts to SPEED: Sports Performance and Physical Education Development are expected to follow the guidelines below to ensure a smooth review and publication process. Submissions that do not meet these requirements may be returned for revision or rejected outright.

1. Scope of the Journal

SPEED accepts original research articles, literature reviews, case studies, and other scientific papers related to:

  • Sports performance and training

  • Physical education

  • Sports coaching and psychology

  • Sports physiology and biomechanics

  • Sports nutrition

  • Health, fitness, and wellness

  • Physical activity in education and community settings

2. Manuscript Categories

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles

  • Case Studies

  • Short Communications

  • Book Reviews (by invitation)

3. Language

Manuscripts must be written in Bahasa Indonesia or English with clear, concise, and grammatically correct language. Use academic language appropriate for a scholarly audience.

4. Submission Format

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12

  • Spacing: 1.5 lines

  • Margins: Normal (2.54 cm on all sides)

  • Page numbers: Bottom-right

  • Length: 4,000–7,000 words (excluding references)

5. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be organized as follows:

  1. Title (clear, concise, and informative)

  2. Author Information

    • Full name(s)

    • Affiliation(s)

    • Email address of the corresponding author

  3. Abstract (150–250 words, including objectives, methods, results, and conclusion)

  4. Keywords (3–5 relevant keywords)

  5. Introduction

  6. Methods

  7. Results and Discussion

  8. Conclusion

  9. Acknowledgments (optional)

  10. References

Note: Use headings and subheadings to improve readability.

6. Abstract and Keywords

  • The abstract should be written in both English and Bahasa Indonesia, regardless of the language used in the main manuscript.

  • Keywords should reflect the main topics and themes of the paper.

7. References

  • Use APA 7th Edition citation style consistently throughout the manuscript.

  • Include only sources cited in the text.

  • At least 80% of references should come from the last 10 years.

  • Use reference management software such as Mendeley or Zotero.

8. Originality and Plagiarism

  • Manuscripts must be original and unpublished, and must not be under review elsewhere.

  • All submissions will be checked for plagiarism using detection tools.

  • Similarity must be below 25%.

9. Ethical Considerations

  • Research involving humans or animals must include proof of ethical approval.

  • Authors must declare any conflicts of interest.

  • Funding sources should be acknowledged.

  • All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.

  • The editorial team will provide a decision within 4–6 weeks.

  • Authors may be asked to revise the manuscript before final acceptance.

  • Accepted articles will be published online first before inclusion in the issue.

12. Article Processing Charges (APC)

Currently, there are no submission or publication fees. SPEED is fully open access and free of charge for both authors and readers.

Authors retain copyright. All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).
