Two key variables are nutrient timing and body composition. This review article aims to analyze and synthesize scientific evidence regarding the synergistic contribution of nutrient timing and body composition in optimizing athletes' power output and endurance maintenance capabilities. A systematic literature review was conducted using online databases (Google Scholar, ERIC, ScienceDirect) with inclusion criteria for experimental and review research articles published within the last 10 years, focusing on athletic subjects. It was found that appropriate nutrient timing (carbohydrates and protein) maximizes glycogen resynthesis and muscle hypertrophy. Ideal body composition (high lean body mass percentage and low body fat percentage) correlates positively with power-to-weight ratio and biomechanical efficiency, which are crucial for both performance variables. The optimization of nutrient timing and body composition management are inseparable fundamental strategies, collectively contributing significantly to the enhancement of athletic power and endurance.
Mat Wajib Hamdiana Copyright (c) 2026 Journal of Sports Assessment and Performance 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 1 2 39 44 10.55081/josap.v1i2.5228 Analysis Of Student Concentration Levels In Karate Extracurricular Activities At Sd 014 Rambah Hilir https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JoSAP/article/view/5362
This study aims to analyze the concentration levels of students participating in the extracurricular karate program at SD 014 Rambah Hilir and the impact of this activity on their focus abilities during learning. The method used is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental research design. The research sample consisted of 30 students actively involved in the karate extracurricular program. Data were collected through observation, concentration tests, and interviews with the instructor. Data analysis used statistical tests to determine changes in students’ concentration levels before and after participating in the extracurricular activities for three months. The results showed a significant increase in student concentration levels after regularly practicing karate, indicated by a 25% increase in concentration test scores. Furthermore, the instructor reported improvements in student discipline and self-regulation skills. This study concludes that the karate extracurricular program benefits not only physical development but also significantly enhances students' concentration and learning focus. Therefore, it is recommended that schools optimize karate activities as part of a comprehensive student development program.
Mhd Danang Al-fiqri Muhammad Prawibowo Nur Haliza Salsabila Mhd Abdul Azis Setia Ramadhana Aufa Arkan Ramdhan Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Sports Assessment and Performance 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 1 2 45 49 10.55081/josap.v1i2.5362 The Impact of Intrinsic Motivation on the Achievement of High School Football Athletes https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JoSAP/article/view/5593
This study aims to investigate the impact of intrinsic motivation on the performance achievement of high-school football athletes. A quantitative correlational design was employed involving N = 120 male athletes aged 15–18 years from three secondary schools in (city/region). Participants were selected via purposive sampling criteria: engaged in regular training (>3 sessions/week) and competed in school league during the last season. Data collection used a validated Intrinsic Motivation in Sport Scale (IMS, 20 items, Cronbach’s α = 0.87) and a performance achievement record (goals, assists, coach evaluation) from the season. Data were analysed using Pearson correlation and multiple regression to test the hypothesis that higher intrinsic motivation predicts better athletic performance. The findings show a significant positive relationship (r = 0.52, p < 0.01) and regression results indicate intrinsic motivation accounted for 27 % of variance in performance (β = 0.52, p < 0.001). The study concludes that intrinsic motivation is a meaningful predictor of school-level football performance. It is recommended that coaches and educators foster autonomy, mastery experiences, and enjoyment to enhance athletes’ intrinsic motivation and thereby performance
Muhammad Prawibowo Muhammad Zaky Al Farras Febri Arwatan Sepnika Zahrima Muhammad Saleh Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Sports Assessment and Performance 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 1 2 50 56 10.55081/josap.v1i2.5593 Contribution Of Arm Muscle Strength, Body Flexibility, And Body Weight To The Ability Of Basketball Chest Pass In Pjkr Offering F Class 2022 Students https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JoSAP/article/view/3556
This research aims to determine the contribution of arm muscle strength, body flexibility, and body weight to the basketball chest pass ability of PJKR F students class of 2024. In carrying out the research, the aspects examined include basic basketball chest pass ability. The population of this study was PJKR F students class of 2024, totaling 32 students. The data in this study was taken using a series of tests which included tests of hand muscle strength, body flexibility and body weight on basketball chest pass ability. The data analysis method uses correlation analysis techniques to measure the relationship between variables. The results of the research show that the relationship between arm muscle strength and basketball chast pass ability is 0.745, the relationship between body flexibility and basketball chast pass ability is 0.772, and the relationship between body weight and basketball chast pass ability is 0.388. Based on the results of this analysis, it can be concluded that the factor that has the most influence on basketball chast pass performance is body flexibility. This is indicated by the higher significance test results compared to other variables. On the other hand, hand muscle strength as measured by the push up test and body weight as measured by a weighing machine showed no statistically significant influence on basketball training ability. So it can be concluded that there is no significant relationship between X1, X2, and X3 on Y.
Dadang Juli Asmanto Siti Nurrochmah Dufa Miyanda Pinandito Galih Dwi Novaliyanto Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Sports Assessment and Performance 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 1 2 57 64 10.55081/josap.v1i2.3556 Students' Interest In Learning Kasti Ball: A Study Of Junior High School And Mts Students In Pabedilan District https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JoSAP/article/view/3686
Based on the fact that there are still some who are less interested in playing rounders and also the lack of courage of students at the junior high school level, the researcher conducted a study with the aim of seeing students' interest in learning rounders in junior high school/Islamic junior high school students in Pabedilan District. Then the method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method with a questionnaire as its instrument. The population used was junior high school and Islamic junior high school students in Pabedilan District totaling 204 students. Then for the sample using random sampling technique, the number of samples was 102 students. The data collection technique in this study used a questionnaire distributed to students and previously conducted validity and reliability tests. While for the data analysis technique using descriptive statistics. Based on the calculation of the research data, it shows that overall, Student Interest in Learning the Game of Kasti in Junior High Schools and MTs throughout Pabedilan District from 24 statement items obtained results in the very high category of 71 students (69.6%), in the high category of 29 students (28.4%), in the low category of 2 students (2.0%), in the low category of 0 students (0%) and in the very low category of 0 students (0%). So it can be concluded that student interest in the game of Kasti is in the very high category.
Riza Sukma Fauzi Didik Subhakti Prawira Raharja Indrayogi Copyright (c) 2025 Journal of Sports Assessment and Performance 2025-05-31 2025-05-31 1 2 65 75 10.55081/josap.v1i2.3686
