The pressure of competition, team dynamics, and individual demands require a comprehensive approach that integrates aspects of sports psychology. This study aims to investigate the impact of applying sports psychology management and mental coaching on improving the performance of basketball teams in Bandung. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental design. The research subjects consisted of two youth basketball teams in Bandung, which acted as the experimental and control groups, respectively. The experimental group was given an intervention in the form of a 12-week mental training program, which included visualization techniques, self-talk, stress management, and team cohesion enhancement. Team performance was measured using a series of indicators, including winning percentage, individual statistics (e.g., field goal percentage and assist-to-turnover ratio), and psychological evaluations (e.g., pre-game anxiety levels). Data analysis results showed a significant improvement in the performance of the experimental team after the intervention, compared to the control group. This improvement was seen in the winning percentage, team cohesion, and decreased anxiety levels. This study proves that sports psychology management and mental coaching programs are effective in optimizing basketball team performance.
Encep Farlan Sutarza Lalu Hulfian Copyright (c) 2025 Encep Farlan Sutarza, Lalu Hulfian https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-30 2025-09-30 4 1 1 10 10.55081/jmos.v4i1.4624 The Application of Risk Management in Organizing Sports Activities in Schools https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JSSB/article/view/4609
The implementation of sports activities in schools, although essential for the physical and character development of students, carries various potential risks, ranging from physical injuries to organizational and financial problems. This study aims to analyze the implementation of risk management in the organization of sports activities in schools in Gajahmungkur District, Semarang City. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with physical education teachers, principals, and students, as well as participatory observation and documentation studies. The results show that awareness of the importance of risk management still varies between schools. Some schools have implemented ad hoc risk mitigation measures, such as equipment checks, warm-ups, and strict supervision, but these have not been integrated into a systematic framework. Risk identification, evaluation, and response are often based on experience or intuition rather than structured analysis. In addition, collaboration between various related parties, such as parents and medical personnel, still needs to be improved. This study concludes that more intensive socialization and training on risk management for school staff is needed. The development of specific and standardized risk management guidelines for sports activities in schools is also highly recommended to improve the safety and effectiveness of activities.
Muhammad Syaleh Copyright (c) 2025 Muhammad Syaleh https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-30 2025-09-30 4 1 11 21 10.55081/jmos.v4i1.4609 The Impact of Health Swimming Program Management on Students' Physical and Mental Fitness https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JSSB/article/view/4608
Swimming is not only a competitive sport but also an effective intervention to improve physical and mental health. Despite its proven benefits, the integration of swimming into wellness programs in higher education is still limited, particularly in developing countries such as Indonesia. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of an 8-week wellness swimming program on physical fitness and psychological well-being of sports education students at Riau University. A mixed-methods approach was used, incorporating quantitative data from 30 students (measured through the 12-minute Cooper Test, PSQI, DASS-21, and Likert scales) as well as semi-structured interviews with 5 participants. Quantitative results showed significant improvements in cardiovascular fitness (p < 0.01), sleep quality (p < 0.01), as well as decreased stress levels (p < 0.05) and daily fatigue (p < 0.01). Qualitative findings revealed increased energy, mental relaxation, and social support. The program was effective in improving physical and psychological health, supporting its integration into campus wellness initiatives. Colleges should consider swimming as a holistic wellness intervention, with the recommendation of continued research to explore long-term effects and scalability.
Agung Hilmi Wahdi Kristi Agust Copyright (c) 2025 Agung Hilmi Wahdi, Kristi Agust https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-30 2025-09-30 4 1 22 31 10.55081/jmos.v4i1.4608 Analisis Perbedaan Gerak Atlet Sprint Low-Vision Nasional dan Daerah (Manajemen Latihan Olahraga Disabilitas) https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JSSB/article/view/4695
Hamildthon Lowry Lagran Sebayang Tama Anugrah Copyright (c) 2025 Hamildthon Lowry Lagran Sebayang, Tama Anugrah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-30 2025-09-30 4 1 32 42 10.55081/jmos.v4i1.4695 Analysis of Private Sector Involvement in The Organization of Community-Based Sports Event https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JSSB/article/view/4614
The development of community-based sporting events in Indonesia is growing rapidly, driven by increasing public awareness of the importance of healthy lifestyles. However, the sustainability and scale of these events are often constrained by limited funding. Private sector involvement through sponsorship and strategic partnerships is one potential solution to overcome these challenges. This study aims to analyze the forms, motivations, and impacts of private sector involvement in organizing community-based sporting events in Ungaran District, Semarang Regency. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data was collected through in-depth interviews with event organizers, private company representatives, and participants. The results show that private sector involvement varies, ranging from direct financial support, provision of products/services, to branding partnerships. The main motivations for companies are brand image enhancement, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and market expansion. On the other hand, event organizers benefit from improved event quality, financial stability, and wider promotional reach. However, challenges such as vision mismatches, complex negotiations, and unmeasured impact evaluations are still encountered. This study concludes that effective collaboration requires transparent communication and a shared vision between both parties.
Fredy Eko Setiawan Guntur Ratih Prestifa Herdinata Aristiyanto Aristiyanto Copyright (c) 2025 Fredy Eko Setiawan, Guntur Ratih Prestifa Herdinata, Aristiyanto Aristiyanto https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-30 2025-09-30 4 1 43 53 10.55081/jmos.v4i1.4614 Comparative Study of Physical Education Management in Sports-Based Schools and Regular Schools in Facing The Demands of The 2025 Curriculum https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JSSB/article/view/4625
The implementation of the 2025 Curriculum brings significant changes to the educational paradigm, including in Physical Education (PE) subjects. This study aims to compare the physical education management models between sports-based schools and regular schools in East Java Province in facing the demands of this new curriculum. This research uses a qualitative approach with a comparative case study method. The research subjects consisted of teachers, principals, and physical education coordinators from two selected Sports-based schools and two Regular schools. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. It was found that Sports-based schools have advantages in terms of time allocation, teacher qualifications, and facilities. However, Regular schools showed flexibility in integrating the curriculum with other subjects. Both types of schools faced different challenges in terms of evaluation and parental involvement. Sports-Based Schools were better prepared in terms of infrastructure and human resources, while Regular schools showed better adaptation in holistic pedagogical approaches.
Galih Farhanto Marki Sandi Donny Setiawan Copyright (c) 2025 Galih Farhanto, Marki Sandi, Donny Setiawan https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-30 2025-09-30 4 1 54 62 10.55081/jmos.v4i1.4625 Manajemen Tata Kelola Gizi Atlet Disabilitas Cabang Olahraga Atletik Nomor Lempar https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JSSB/article/view/4711
Reza Pramana Peranginangin Agung Nugroho Copyright (c) 2025 Reza Pramana Peranginangin, Agung Nugroho https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-30 2025-09-30 4 1 63 70 10.55081/jmos.v4i1.4711 Sports School Training Management: Correlation between Body Mass Index and The Physical Condition of Karate Athletes https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JSSB/article/view/4709
This study aims to analyze the effect of Body Mass Index (BMI) on the physical condition of karate athletes at the Riau Province Special Sports School. The physical conditions measured include arm and abdominal muscle strength, endurance, agility, flexibility, and leg muscle power. The research method used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 9 active karate athletes (5 female and 4 male) selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through BMI measurements and a series of physical fitness tests such as push-ups, sit-ups, beep tests, Illinois Agility Runs, sit and reach tests, and standing board jumps. Descriptive analysis results showed that 89% of athletes had a normal BMI, while 11% were underweight, with no overweight or obese athletes. There was a significant relationship between BMI and flexibility (p=0.032; r=0.711), indicating that athletes with normal BMI had better flexibility than underweight athletes. Agility showed a positive but insignificant relationship with BMI (p=0.429; r=0.303). Endurance, arm and abdominal muscle strength, and leg muscle power did not show a significant relationship with BMI. In conclusion, BMI is an important indicator in supporting athletes' flexibility, but it does not directly affect other aspects of physical fitness. Monitoring BMI and holistic training programs are recommended for optimizing karate athletes' performance.
Salsabilah Salsabilah Muhammad Prawibowo Copyright (c) 2025 Salsabilah Salsabilah, Muhammad Prawibowo https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-30 2025-09-30 4 1 71 80 10.55081/jmos.v4i1.4709 Evaluasi Manajemen Pembinaan Prestasi Olahraga Taekwondo (Studi Kasus pada Atlet Disabilitas NPCI Sumatera Utara) https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JSSB/article/view/4728
Mila Sapriani Agung Nugroho Copyright (c) 2025 Mila Sapriani, Agung Nugroho https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-30 2025-09-30 4 1 81 92 10.55081/jmos.v4i1.4728 The Effectiveness of Audiovisual Media Management in Improving Students' Badminton Footwork Skills https://jurnal.stokbinaguna.ac.id/index.php/JSSB/article/view/4814
Footwork skills are a fundamental aspect of badminton because they determine the efficiency of movement and the effectiveness of shots. However, many students still have difficulty mastering this technique. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of audio-visual media in improving badminton footwork skills. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of 73 Physical Education, Health, and Recreation students at the University of Riau in the even semester of 2024/2025, divided into an experimental group (n=37) and a control group (n=36). The research instrument was a badminton footwork test that had been validated by experts. The analysis results showed an increase in footwork skills in both groups, with the average gain in the experimental group (+1.57) higher than that in the control group (+1.06). The paired t-test showed a significant increase in the experimental group (p=0.002), but the independent t-test showed that the difference between the groups was not significant (p=0.052). These findings indicate that audio-visual media can be an effective complement to footwork learning, although it does not completely replace conventional methods.
Aidil Syaputra Zainur Zainur Hirja Hidayat Arfa Adha Purwanto Purwanto Rahmad Diyanto Copyright (c) 2025 Aidil Syaputra, Zainur Zainur, Hirja Hidayat, Arfa Adha, Purwanto Purwanto, Rahmad Diyanto https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 2025-09-30 2025-09-30 4 1 93 100 10.55081/jmos.v4i1.4814
